Today, on World Earth Day, I’m so excited to share something close to my heart—a new embroidery design that pays homage to the delicate beauty of our natural world. Inspired by the flutter of wings, the bloom of wildflowers, and the quiet elegance of leafy greens, this pattern brings together two of my favourite things to stitch: insects and flora.

At the heart of this new piece is a butterfly, a gentle symbol of transformation, grace, and the fragility of nature. Surrounding it, I’ve stitched a dance of delicate flowers, leafy vines, and decorative details that mimic the slow magic of a meadow in spring.
This design is more than just a visual celebration—it’s a reminder of the precious ecosystems we need to protect.
🌸 The Design
The purple butterfly is the centrepiece of this embroidery, its wings filled with tiny textures and subtle colour shifts to bring it to life. Around it, I’ve let my imagination wander into a garden of soft petals and flowing foliage. Using stick and stitch sheets, this pattern is easy to apply to any surface—but I chose to embroider it on a natural-fibre tote bag, making something both beautiful and useful.

The result? A piece that’s as sustainable as it is stunning—a gentle statement for anyone who wants to carry a little more nature with them every day.

🛍️ A New Range Is Blooming…
This design marks the launch of a new product range, where each pattern is inspired by the quiet brilliance of bugs, blooms, and botanicals. From bees and beetles to daisies and ferns, every piece invites you to slow down, notice the little things, and maybe even pick up a needle and thread.

Each design is:
- Stick-and-stitch friendly for easy use on clothing, bags, or hoop art
- Designed to spark creativity and a deeper appreciation for the world around us

🌱 Why Earth Day?
Because making art about nature feels right. Embroidery, for me, is a quiet act of attention—and what better way to honour the planet than by stitching its tiniest wonders into something we can carry, wear, and celebrate?
So whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or new to embroidery, I hope this design brings you the same sense of calm and connection it brought me.
